When I first moved into my own apartment, I learned pretty quickly that I could NOT substitute a screwdriver (listed in the set-up guide) with a kabob skewer (randomly found in my kitchen junk drawer). Clever? Yes. But let me tell ya -- that adorable little bench did NOT hold up for more than a few weeks.
